Displaying your state and local business license/permit/registration information (number and date) on your API-connected listing is crucial for legal compliance, building trust, demonstrating transparency, gaining a competitive advantage, facilitating regulatory compliance verification, and avoiding suspicion or inquiries. It enhances your vacation rental's reputation and professionalism while providing peace of mind to your guests.
While it's easy to add your state and local business license/permit/registration information to your OwnerRez property descriptions, users have to add that information directly on both Airbnb and Vrbo due to them removing support for those fields. The API Property Field Differences support article shows all supported fields by channel.
OwnerRez users should note that adding your state and local business license/permit/registration information into Airbnb and Vrbo will not be overwritten by the OwnerRez API sync process.
As of May 2024, Airbnb appears to have changed this process. These instructions are out of date, and we will update them as soon as we learn more.
Users can log into their Airbnb account to manually add their property registration/lodging information details. When logged into your Airbnb host account, navigate to Listings > click on your Listing > the Listing Editor will open > and click on the sliders icon to open the Edit preferences menu.
Scroll down to Local Laws >
Vrbo
Users can log into their Vrbo Owner Dashboard to complete the Local Laws section on their Vrbo dashboard. Note that Vrbo supports one registration number (see screenshots below) via API, but depending on the property location Vrbo may want additional information.
Some users may experience that their property is still not active due to an INCOMPLETE or inactive status on Vrbo and entering their registration number should activate their Vrbo listing.
